Richmond

Richmond is one of Southeast Portland's most consistently desirable neighborhoods — and one of the least flashy about it. Bounded by Division Street to the north and Powell Boulevard to the south, it's a dense residential grid of craftsman bungalows and four-squares, most of them in excellent condition, on streets shaded by mature trees.

Division Street is the neighborhood's northern edge and its biggest draw: a mile-long stretch of acclaimed restaurants, wine bars, and coffee shops that has been named one of the best food streets in America. Ava Gene's, Han Oak, and Tusk are just a few of the names that draw diners from across the city. The trade-off is that Division can be loud on weekend nights — buyers who want Division walkability without the noise tend to look a few blocks south.

Richmond's schools are strong, its housing stock is well-maintained, and its location — close to Hawthorne, Ladd's Addition, and the Clinton Street corridor — makes it one of the most connected neighborhoods in SE Portland.
